Recapture a piece of your childhood as you play this classic schoolyard game of team tag. This 2-team boardgame version adds some capture-the-flag elements to give coaches a reason to send their players deep into opposing territory.
Coaches move their players, capture opponents, pick up flags, and attempt to deliver those flags to the opponent’s base.
The new-and-improved 2nd Edition dice rules open up the game to make it a fast-paced, 5-on-5 showdown, while giving coaches a short glimpse into future possibilities.
Rule Changes with 2nd Edition
The rules around how the dice are used to determine movement were changed with the 2nd Edition. However, the game’s components are essentially the same, so owners of the 1st Edition can play with the 2nd Edition rules if they choose to. For more details, see my post about it on BGG.
History
The original edition of DareBase was first published in July 2005 and went “out of print” in July of 2007.
I made each set by hand … painting & stamping the wooden bits, and cutting, layering, and finishing the boards. (The dice were not handmade.)
